🍁Welcome to day 3 of Youtober🍁 Are you struggling in getting everything done? Do you want to spend your time effectively? I am sharing some time management tips and two exercises that you can do to help you plan your ideal week as well as how to plan your time more wisely.

HOW TO GET EVERYTHING DONE | TIME MANAGEMENT 

 

✨HOW TO MAKE TIME FOR EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO DO✨

1.Mindset shift

The first thing that you need to think of is where your mindset is at the moment. What do you really want to do and how is the situation at the moment. The best exercise to define; how you spend your time at the moment and then deciding on how you actually want to spend your time, is to do the Circle exercise.

This exercise helps you to figure out how you spend your time at the moment, in a really honest way. Where do you need more time? When are you wasting time during your day? The best way to complete this task is by stopping the clock during a day and writing it all down.

2.Cut down distraction time

First of all, declutter and reorganize your whole space (work space) before you are starting to work on a specific project. This will keep you focused as you are not thinking about all the clearing up you still have to do. It is important to cut down distractions as you are loosing a lot of time by for example strolling through social media. Therefore you should minimize everything that could distract you.

BE EFFECTIVE; NOT EFFICIENT

3.Focus on one thing at a time

One of the best methods to focus is to set timers. I like to work in 40minutes shifts, while I am concentrated on one specific subject and then I like to take a break of 10-20minutes. This of course is completely up to you. In addition, it is important to prioritize! One of the best methods is the Eisenhower method, which consists in dividing your tasks in A (really important) ,B, C and D (not important at all) tasks. In other words, you rank your tasks in terms of priority and align them with your goals, dreams & wishes.

4.Plan your ideal week

Now it is time to plan your ideal week and figure out what you actually want to do during a week. The first thing that you need to do is to decide on your non-negotiables. This means that you put all your fix tasks into the planner, which can’t be moved like your morning/evening routine, your work schedule or university courses. Once that is all in the planner, you can start dreaming what you would want to do in your ideal life. You can use colors to make the planning exercise even more effective.

Pay attention to ask yourself this crucial question: Does this schedule look doable? Of course, this planner is only a guideline and you can complete it as often as you like. I personally tend to do it every season as my routines tend to change seasonally. Once you’ve completed the exercise, it is time to spend your days as you want to spend them!
